Welcome to GayFOLs! By accessing or using our website (gayfols.com), participating in our digital communication spaces, or registering for our community map and events, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

GayFOLs is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a Recognized LEGO® Online Community (RLOC). These terms govern your use of our digital platforms and services.

1. Eligibility and Age Requirements

GayFOLs is an international community specifically curated for Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs). You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account, apply for community space access, submit event data, or list yourself on our Global Builder Map. By using this site, you affirm that you meet this age requirement.

2. Community Standards & Code of Conduct

Our digital clubhouse exists to provide a safe, affirming space for LGBTQIA+ adults and allies. As a condition of using our platform and participating in GayFOLs-branded spaces (including our website, Discord, and closed social groups), you explicitly agree to uphold our Community Guidelines and Code of Conduct.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, hate speech, trolling, or any behavior that intentionally compromises the safety or privacy of our members (including "outing" closeted participants). Violation of these guidelines will result in immediate termination of your access without warning.

3. User-Submitted Content & The Global Builder Map

When you submit content to our site—including text, event metrics, or coordinates for our Interactive Global Builder Map—you grant GayFOLs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that data to facilitate community networking and non-profit reporting.

Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, generalized geographical information (e.g., city/region level only) to preserve your own safety and map data integrity.
Prohibited Content: You may not upload or submit any content that violates intellectual property rights, is defamatory, or contains malicious code.

4. LEGO® Trademark and Relationship Disclaimer

GayFOLs is recognized by the LEGO Group as an official RLOC. However, GayFOLs is an independent community.

LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this site or organization.

All custom builds, modifications, MOCs (My Own Creations), or opinions displayed by individual members on this site are solely those of the creators and do not represent the views of GayFOLs or the LEGO Group.

5. Intellectual Property & Brand Assets

The original content, organization branding, custom graphics, and layout elements on gayfols.com (including our official logo and custom-designed community branding assets) are the property of GayFOLs and are protected by copyright laws. You may not use our official logo or claim official representation of GayFOLs for commercial purposes without explicit, written permission from the Board of Directors.

6. Donations and Financial Transactions

All monetary donations made to GayFOLs via our integrated platform tools are processed securely through third-party processors (such as PayPal). Donations are generally tax-deductible under U.S. 501(c)(3) guidelines; please consult a tax professional regarding your local international tax deductions. All financial contributions are voluntary and non-refundable.

7. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers

GayFOLs provides this website and its community features on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we work diligently to maintain a safe, moderated, and uninterrupted digital space, we make no warranties that the site will be error-free or completely uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GayFOLs, its board members, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, our platform or attend real-world meet-ups.

8. Termination of Service

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to gayfols.com, our interactive maps, or our private communication networks at any time and for any reason—specifically including violations of our Code of Conduct—without prior notice or liability.

9. Governing Law

As a registered non-profit corporation in the United States, these Terms of Service and any disputes arising out of your use of the website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update our Terms of Service from time to time to adapt to new website features, community initiatives, or international legal changes. Any modifications will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of the site following updates constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
